When you join STAR Financial Credit Union as a Full Time – Member Service Representative, you are joining a team of dedicated, down to earth individuals who enjoy helping others and working in a collaborative environment.


The Member Services Representative/Teller position is responsible for providing friendly service and processing members financial transactions such as cashing checks, deposits, withdrawals, receiving payments and introducing members to the many ways STAR Financial Credit Union can help them meet their financial goals.

Must be able to work Monday – Friday 7:15am – 6:30 pm and Rotating Saturdays 8:30am – 1:30pm


  • Receives checks and cash for deposit, verifies amount, and examines checks for endorsements
  • Cashes checks and pays out money after verification of signatures and member balances
  • Enters members transactions into computer to record transactions, and issues computer generated receipts
  • Places holds on accounts for uncollected funds
  • Orders daily supply of cash, and counts incoming cash for their drawer
  • Balances currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer at end of shift and compares totaled amounts with data displayed on computer screen
  • Explains, promotes, or sells products or services such as travelers checks, money orders, and cashiers checks, cash advances and theme park tickets
  • Allows member access to safe deposit boxes, following specified procedures
  • Removes deposits from night depository. Assists counting and balancing cash in automated teller machines
  • Accepts loan and Mastercard payments. Processes cash advances on credit cards
  • Processes stop payment requests
  • Processes wire transfers
  • Accepts member account changes and forwards to appropriate personnel for processing
  • Scan checks thru branch capture, verify batches are scanned correctly and final totals balance
  • Travel to other branches when necessary.
  • Follows security procedures to building at opening of business and closing
  • General filing duties and other duties as assigned


  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum 6 months related experience and/or training
  • Excellent math and calculator skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent time management, organizational and problem solving skills with the ability to multi task
  • Must perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Must be team oriented
  • Spanish preferred- not required


This position may require travel between branches, as needed
